The latest Pimics PIM release, version 13.1, brings a new wave of improvements and one of the biggest highlights is the
upgraded Sana Connector, which helps optimize communication between
Pimics and Sana Commerce and reduces the time needed for data updates. But that is only one part of the story. Version 13.1 also introduces a new
Assisted Setup for smoother installations,
a flat JSON structure for more reliable
InDesign publication exports, new pipeline actions,
Resolver Groups in checklists,
bulk edit in Catalog Items, and more.
In the following sections, we will walk you through selected features one by one and explore how they can make product data management easier.
Guided setup for faster onboarding
This feature is especially useful for teams planning to scale. The new
Assisted Setup wizard guides administrators through the most important configuration choices after installation, making the initial setup clearer, faster, and less dependent on manual navigation across multiple setup pages.
So, when a new tenant is installed, administrators can complete critical setup steps faster and with a lower risk of misconfiguration. For growing businesses, this means less time spent on configuration and more time focused on managing their product data.
Better product relationships with cross references
Pimics 13.1 introduces
cross-reference management for Catalog Item records. This makes it easier to work with related products, accessories, substitutes, and similar catalog relationships in one place. The feature also supports filtered navigation and proper lifecycle handling during activation and deletion.
This feature does not only benefit internal users. Well-managed product relationships are also an important part of a better customer experience. They support cross-selling, reduce confusion, and help to ensure that product recommendations are always based on reliable data.
ETIM 10 support for more future-ready classification
The latest version also adds support for
ETIM 10 feature groups by preparing the data model, import logic, and upgrade handling for newer ETIM structures. For companies working with ETIM-based classification, this helps keep product data aligned with current industry standards.
Resolver Groups for keeping the certification moving
One of the key improvements in Pimics 13.1 is that the
checklist and data-resolution responsibilities can now be assigned to
Resolver Groups instead of only individual users because in practice, product data quality is often a shared responsibility. If one responsible person is unavailable, another member of the Resolver Group can take over and resolve the issue. This keeps certification moving and reduces the risk that incomplete or incorrect product information delays publication.
Stronger checklist relation
Checklist controls work as a quality gate before product information is published. If important data is missing or incomplete, the item cannot move forward until the issue is resolved. This helps prevent unreliable product data from reaching catalogs, webshops, or other sales channels.
With Pimics 13.1, this idea goes even further. This release introduces two new relation check types:
Parent Allocation and Child Allocation. Parent Allocation verifies that an item or category is allocated under a required parent, while Child Allocation verifies that a category contains the required child allocations.
Before an item is certified, Pimics can check whether it is placed under the correct parent category. This helps teams avoid publishing products in the wrong category and improves the overall quality of data or catalog structure
More efficient InDesign endpoint for flat JSON data structure
For teams preparing printed or digital catalogs, a cleaner export structure means less manual preparation and fewer technical obstacles during publication. Pimics 13.1 adds a new
InDesign endpoint that exports publication data as a flat JSON structure. Users can select which levels and fields to include, making the export more practical for EasyCatalog and InDesign workflows.
The bigger picture behind Pimics 13.1
Together, these improvements allow Pimics 13.1 to connect technical development with real business needs. This release is not only about adding more functionality. It is about making everyday product data work easier, from setup to data publishing. Each improvement supports the same goal: helping teams
manage product information more efficiently directly inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and keep improving Pimics with every single release.
